Check out LogoPond, a community for logo designers and those looking for some logo inspiration. You can showcase your logos in the gallery and get critique, rate and add logos to your favorites, browse logos via color tags, and lots more. Nice and simple layout, too.

High Dynamic Range Imaging, or simply “HDRI“, is currently gaining a lot of momentum among photographers. These images offer a much larger range of tones than traditional exposure. The outcome is terrific. Ryan McGinnis has written up a very easy to follow tutorial on creating HDR photos with Photoshop CS2.

This video represents a week in the life of “Rinpa,” a Japanese art crew based in Tokyo.

The creators of the excellent WordPress software have released the first public version of bbPress, a new forum software that focuses on bringing the same simplicity into the realm of forums as WordPress has done in the realm of blogs. Some of the features:

• Fast and Light: nothing you don’t need.
• Built in spam protection by Akismet.
• Really simple interface: we want people using our software to forget that they’re using it.
• Complete integration with WordPress.
• Both the look and the functionality are highly customizable.
• RSS feeds for everything.

Plus, it’s focussed on being completely standards-complaint. Sounds good. position: absolute is happily running on WordPress, so I have high hopes in this.

I’ve discovered a little trick that lets you change the icon that appears when you autoscroll in Firefox. Surprise your website visitors with this gimmick.

Need to make some graphs for a presentation? Instead of going the (ugly) Excel way, how about giving Illustrator a try? Bartelme has created a nice tutorial on making visually appealing graphs in Adobe Illustrator. What’s nice about these is they remain editable; just give in new stats and slightly adjust, so you can use them over and over again. I’ve tried it myself, as you can see on the left. ;) View Part 1 and Part 2.

Design theft is something every designer comes across at some point in his career. Some people just can’t keep their fingers off other peoples’ work and claim it theirs. Once discovered, these individuals fire off a certain set of arguments that may seem hard to counter at first. Not all hope is lost, however, as James Bennett of The B-List has managed to classify the characteristics of design thief arguments into three species: Turpem tuus, Auferet omnes and Situs in publica, along with their respective antidotes. My work has been ripped numerous times before, so I find this particulary funny. Read it all here.

“Street art is a form of urban art and communication which should not be seperated from its roots – the street.” Following this motto, NO GALLERY has organized Sticker Safari, a free, 24/7 outdoor gallery featuring urban art stickers on Marktstraße in Hamburg, Germany. This year saw over 5000 entries to the International Sticker Awards and the best will be on display here. It started three days ago and is running until November 7th, so be sure to have a look if you’re in the area. See last year’s stickers here.

There are so many color palette generators out there right now, I thought I’d round some of them up for you for a quick overview. I was going to rate them, but really, go with what works best for you. If you know some other good ones, feel free to post them!
